Questionnaires

Remember, you should collect 5 questionnaires and bring them to class with you on Monday.

Several of you have asked whether respondents should fill out both versions of the questionnaire (cool vs. uncool). No, just randomly give your respondents either one or the other. We want half of our respondents to complete a "cool" survey and half to complete an "uncool" survey.

Also, if you didn't pick up some questionnaires during the exam, or if you need more, you can download them here ("cool" version) and here ("uncool" version).

Exam 2 Grades Posted

The grades for Exam 2 are now posted on Blackboard.

I threw out three questions that more than 66% of the class missed, so the total points were out of 44 instead of 47. Also, there was one question that asked you to identify a modified Likert scale. If you chose "Likert scale" I gave you full credit, but if you chose "modified Likert" (the correct answer), you earned an extra half-question credit (e.g. 41.5/44 instead of 41/44).

The class mean was 77.8% (Std Dev = 10.3) with a minimum of 55% and a maximum of 101%. The distribution is provided below.

Project Part I Grades Posted

I have posted the grades for Part I of the project on Blackboard.

There are three parts to the grade. The first part is the percentage of points on a 100-point scale. For example, 90+ would be an A, 80-89 would be a B, etc. Your peer evaluation points are added or subtracted from this, and then the number is multiplied x 1.5 to get the points.

For example, if your group got 88% and your peer evaluation was +2, your points would be:

(88+2)*1.5 = 135

You can pick up the graded projects after the exam on Wednesday.

Last Chance For 20-Point Extra Credit

The extra credit survey will only be open through Sunday, March 14. This is worth 20 points toward your point total (which could take you from a 78% to a B, or from 88% to an A, for example), so it's definitely worth your time. If you haven't taken it, please do so. It will help both of us.

The survey is at www.untresearch.com/adsurvey

Otherwise, I'll look forward to reading your projects over the next few days. The grades should be posted before the end of the break.

Have a fun and safe Spring Break.

Chapter 13 Handouts Posted

I have posted the handouts for Chapter 13 on Blackboard.

We will finish Chapter 12 and start Chapter 13 on Wednesday, and we'll finish Chapter 13 on Monday after Spring Break. We'll skip Chapter 14, so the exam on March 24 will cover chapters 9-13.

Also, don't forget about the homework survey due before class on Wednesday.

Homework For Wednesday

As I mentioned in class, on Wednesday we will analyze some survey data to demonstrate sampling.

You will need to take a quick 4-question survey. It will literally take 1-2 minutes and counts toward 10 points of your team activity points (not extra credit).

The survey is at www.untresearch.com/homework. (You should also receive a link via email for the same survey).

Also, if you haven't already, be sure to take the extra credit survey. It will take a little longer (10-15 minutes) but is worth 20 extra points. You will need sound and video capabilities.

The extra credit survey is at www.untresearch.com/adsurvey .

Extra Credit Opportunity ... And Other Stuff

As promised, the extra credit survey is now available. You will earn 20 points toward your final total. Even if you don't need the points (and you never know, you might), your participation will help me with my research.

It should take about 15 minutes, but you will need sound and video capabilities.

The URL is www.untresearch.com/adsurvey

Also, I posted the word association template both here and on Blackboard. It is due on Monday, March 8 and should be submitted through Blackboard's "assignments" tool.

Finally, the peer evaluation form is also posted here and on Blackboard. You can either submit it through Blackboard's assignment tool, or print it out and bring it to class. Either way, it is due before class on Wednesday, March 10.
